The Cavaliers
and Warriors
played an absolutely wild first game of their NBA Finals series. The moments
rolled in so quickly that any major event felt obsolete in seconds. We should
be used to this in series that involve LeBron James,
Stephen Curry, Draymond Green
and Kevin
Durant, but even in round four, they found ways to surprise.
The game ended in a 124-114 overtime victory for the Warriors, but
it wasn’t the final minutes that will be remembered. It’s everything that led
to the extra five minutes, and the drama that ensued that will.
Here’s every major event from Warriors-Cavs Game 1:
Klay Thompson went down with a brutal looking injury that turned out to be nothing
JR Smith accidentally came crashing down onto Thompson,
causing the Warriors guard to fall and have his leg bend awkwardly. It looked
bad.
Thompson went back to the locker room limping, worrying fans. But he
returned shortly after, and went on to score 24 points on 16 shots.
He was fine.
JaVale McGee missed the easiest dunk ever in the most JaVale way
