Recently, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and meet and greet have become heavy publicity mechanism used by producers to promote their movies.

However, Nollywood actress Ufuoma McDermott, wants more.
The actress took to Instagram to share a photo of Morris Chestnut and Regina Hallpromoting their new movie "When the Bough Breaks."
She shared the photo the above photo with a post encouraging her colleagues to always promote their movies.
"Fellow actors, it is your DUTY to promote any project you feature in. You know why? Cos its success is your success just as it's failure is yours too,"  she wrote.
Your ratings rise and fall not based on how "sweet" a film is but based on how well it sold. This is known as "Bankability". Get behind the box office. And yes, your social media should be used. The producer already took a risk so quit thinking of how much he'll make from proceeds.(it's not like you'll "help" him if he records a loss)

In early 2016, McDermott starred alongside Omoni Oboli, Uche Jombo, Chioma Chukwuka, Kenneth Okonkwo, Julius Agwu and Kalu Ikeaguwu in "Wives on Strike." 
From Ondo, Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Benin, Warri and Port Harcourt, the cast visited almost all the 12 cities where the movie screened.
They met their fans, convinced them to see the movie, sold tickets, and saw the movie with them.
Biyi Bandele's "Fifty" had a four-month cinema run in Nigeria. The movie not only created a pre-release buzz, they also encouraged a post-release hype by engaging the audience through their various social media campaigns, and 'meet and greet' featuring cast of the movie, and the likes of Banky W. '
Earlier this year, a renowned filmmaker stated that she would never cast an actor who isn't interested in promoting a movie.
